New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on Friday and address an election rally in Jagdalpur area.

This is the first rally of Modi in the poll-bound state.

The first phase of the polling in the state will be held on Nov 12.

Modi said he is confident that people of the state will once again vote his party to power in Chhattisgarh.

"Looking forward to addressing a rally in Jagdalpur. BJP has assiduously served the people of Chhattisgarh for the last 15 years and I am sure the people will again bless our Party in the coming polls. @BJP4CGState," Modi tweeted.

The second phase of polling in the state will be held on Nov 20.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi will also start his two-day Chhattisgarh tour from Friday.

While Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress is in power in Mizoram.

The Congress is eyeing on to wrest power in the three BJP-ruled states in the run up to 2019 General Elections.

Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh state polls are crucial for both the BJP and Congress ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections, which will be held in few months' time.
