London, Nov 13 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the Indian diaspora at the Wembley Stadium here shortly.

UK PM David Cameron introduced him to the crowd that has assembled in the stadium to hear Modi's speech.

"India-UK ties are about people and about prosperity," PM David Cameron said while introducing Modi.

He said both of them are united by the scale of their ambitions.

Cameron said he  supports India's bid for a permanent seat at the UNSC.

"Team India and Team UK, together we are a winning combination," Cameron said.

Referring to Modi's background and his victory in the Lok Sabha polls last year, Cameron said: "They said a Chaiwallah can't govern the largest democracy & he proved them wrong."

The crowd cheered aloud as the PMs of both the nations walked on the stage.

"Mrs. Cameron and PM @David_Cameron welcome PM @narendramodi to @wembleystadium for the community programme," PMO India tweeted.
