Narendra Modi leaves for Brazil to attend BRICS Summit

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday left for Brazil where he will attend the 11th BRICS summit.

Brazil will host the meet from Nov 13 to 14.

Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "#BRICS | Harnessing the power of plurilateral in shaping the global discourse. PM @narendramodi  emplanes for Brazil to attend the 11th #BRICS Summit, a platform which has contributed significantly in promoting global stability and growth."

Ahead of leaving for Brazil, Modi tweeted: "I would be taking part in this year’s BRICS Summit being held in Brazil on 13th and 14th November. The Summit’s theme is ‘Economic growth for an innovative future.’ I look forward to holding discussions with BRICS leaders on greater cooperation in a wide range of areas."

"On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, I would be addressing the BRICS Business Forum and interacting with BRICS Business Council as well as the New Development Bank. Improving economic linkages augur well for the BRICS nations," he said.

Modi will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit tomorrow.

The Prime Minister will also hold meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Brazil Jair Mesias Bolsonaro. 

This will be the sixth time Mr Modi will be participating in the BRICS summit, his first being at Fortaleza, also in Brazil in 2014.
