Narendra Modi did what Manmohanji couldn't : Nirmala Sitharaman

Kolkata, Mar 17 (UNI/IBNS) Defence Minsiter Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi did what former PM Manmohan Singh couldn't during the latter's tenure as the leader of the nation.

With reference to India’s counter-terrorism airstrike,  Sitharaman here made it clear, " If Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, why don’t’ they remove it? That’s why Modi Ji did what Manmohan Singh Ji didn’t do. "

Continuing her attack, she said, “We gave Pakistan evidence in 2008 as  well but you did nothing, JeM itself claimed responsibility for Pulwama, what else do you need? Take action. We took the action that Pakistan should have taken.”

This is not the first time the BJP has lashed the Congress, claiming inaction after 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Earlier, Modi had charged the previous Congress-led UPA government with meting out injustice to the armed forces by failing to act against terrorism after the Mumbai incident.
