Naidu asks MPs to not use the word 'begging' while tabling papers
New Delhi, Dec 29 (IBNS): Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Friday asked lawmakers to stop using the word "beg" before laying reports or papers in the House.
Naidu's comment came when Minister of State for Law and Justice P.P. Chaudhary stood up to lay the papers for his Ministry in the House and said "I beg to lay the papers ..."
As he uttered the words, Naidu said, "No begging please."
He rather advised them to seek permission from him before tabling any official papers.
As a practice, the Ministers generally say "I beg to lay papers listed against my name".
Chaudhary also changed his sentence before laying the papers.
