Nagpur varsity students protest attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University students in Delhi

Nagpur/UNI: The students of Rashtrasanth Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) on Tuesday staged a protest against attack on the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students and teachers, sources said.

According to sources, thousands of students, under the banner of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyarthi Sanghtana (BAVS), gathered outside the university gate and raised slogans condemning the violence at JNU on Sunday night when masked men, armed with sticks and rods, attacked students and teachers and damaged property on the campus, triggering the administration to call in police that conducted a flag march.

Students from medical, engineering and other streams of the university participated in the protest, sources added.
