Nagpur: Blast at gunpowder factory leaves nine dead

At least nine people, including three women workers, were killed and three others were seriously injured in an explosion at Solar Explosives Company located at Bazargaon, near here, on Sunday.

Additional superintendent of police Dr Sandeep Pakhale said that the exact cause of explosion has not been ascertained as yet, but police are investigating.

It has been confirmed that six men and three women were among the dead, he informed.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed deep grief over the deaths of victims in the blast at factory in Nagpur.

The Chief Minister has also announced an assistance of Rs five lakh to the kin of victims.

He has directed the district administration, police and all related agencies to provide timely and quality treatment to injured persons.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed shock over the incident, describing it as very unfotunate.
