Mumbai, Apr 5 (IBNS) Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday negated suggestions of him having any kind of links with offshore companies listed in the Panama papers leak.

Bachchan said his name might have been 'misused'.

"I do not know any of the companies referred to by Indian Express - Sea Bulk Shipping Company Ltd, Lady Shipping Ltd, Treasure Shipping Ltd, and Tramp Shipping Ltd," Bachchan said in a statement available with the media.

"I have never been a director of any of the above stated companies. It is possible that my name has been misused. I have paid all my taxes including on monies spent by me overseas," he said.

In one of the worst scandals involving huge number of  rich and famous  across the globe, a  massive leak of 11.5 million tax documents has exposed the secret offshore dealings of aides to Russian president Vladimir Putin, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and celebrities including Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and actor Jackie Chan, reports said.

500 Indians are also named in the documents.
