Mumbai: Man held for torching teenager's two-wheeler

Thane, May 24 (UNI) A 26-year-old man was arrested on Friday for allegedly torching the two-wheeler of a teenager, who latter took help from a girl known by the accused, after his bike broke down midway, police said here.

According to police, accused Nihar Belose poured an inflammable liquid on the 19-year-old boy's two-wheeler and set it ablaze.


Police said the accused committed arson because when the teenager's two-wheeler reportedly broke down midway, he asked for help from a girl, who is a common friend of both the accused, as well as the victim.


In a fit of rage, the accused torched the two-wheeler and the incident has been purported to be captured on the CCTV.

Naupada Police has arrested the accused under IPC Section 435, which pertains to mischief by fire or explosive substance, with intent to cause damage, it added.
