Guwahati, Aug 26 (IBNS): In yet another instance of moral policing in Assam, a couple was allegedly beaten by some people in the name of ‘Love Jihad’.

The incident took place at Ashram road in Silchar of Assam’s Cachar district on Friday.

According to the reports, some locals caught a Hindu girl with a Muslim boy at the area and allegedly beat up both.

In the videos it could be seen that the girl and the youth were beaten up by some people.

Both the video went viral in social media.

Reports said that, the Hindu girl wanted to marry the Muslim youth, but some local people called it a case of love jihad.

Meanwhile, Cachar district police haven’t taken any action against the people who took the law in their hands and involved in the incident.

It is not the first moral policing incident happened in Assam.
