Modi says TMC government only brought darkness in West Bengal

Basirhat, Apr 21 (IBNS): Campaigning in West Bengal, where the third phase of polling for the Assembly polls is currently underway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the current government has brought more 'darkness' in the state than the previous Left Front government.

"Sunset happened for the Left but what came after that? It caused only more darkness. We need the light of development," Modi said.

He said  state government has not been able to fulfil expectations of the people.

Modi also hammered the government over the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam.

"Why did Sharda scam happen? Am not asking who committed the scam as that is known. It happened because doors of banks were shut for poor," Modi said.

Meanwhile, amid reports of violence, 67.55 voters have exercised their franchise till 3 pm on Thursday in West Bengal, where the third phase of Assembly Elections took place.
