'Modi ji competent, I am not in the race to become PM', says Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Mar 1 (UN/IBNSI) Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, often considered the blue-eyed boy of RSS leadership, said on Friday that he is not in the race to become the Prime Minister and that only Narendra Modi will come back as the 'next Prime Minister' of the country.

''I do not see the dream of becoming Prime Minister. We have a competent Prime Minister and Mr Modi will be the next Prime Minister of the country,'' Gadkari said at the 'Indian Today Conclave' here.

The former BJP chief - who represents Nagpur parliamentary seat - said that the country is on the path of development under the successful leadership of Modi.
''The country is progressing under his capable leadership. He is a competent Prime Minister and in line with Prime Minister's dreams and ideas, I am continuously working as a minister to further his development work,'' he said.

Gadkari said that he does not understand where the question of his becoming Prime Minister arise.

"We are all standing with our Prime Minister. I am a member of his team and working to fulfill his vision''.

Describing himself as a 'RSS foot soldier (Mein RSS walah hoon)', he also said "I have a bad habit ... I tell before 10 lakh Muslims that I am a RSS man. Vote me if you want".
