New Delhi, Feb 29 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has 'passed with flying colours' the examination named Union Budget that was presented by the Finance Minister on Monday.

"If the Union Budget were like annual exams for PM Shri @narendramodi then I must say he has passed the exams with flying colours," Singh tweeted.

"The Budget has certainly outperformed people's expectations on almost all fronts and it will have a multiplier effect on our economy," he said.

Appreciating Jaitley over his Budget, Singh tweeted: "Congratulations to the Finance Minister Shri @arunjaitley on presenting an excellent Union Budget for the fiscal year 2016-17."

Jaitley on Monday presented the Union Budget 2016 focusing on rural development and farm and social sector along with infrastructure with analysts terming it a pro-poor, pro-agriculture move that throws a challenge to the government to implement in reality.
