Modi congratulates Haryana's new CM

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Bharatiya Janata Party's Karnal MLA Manohar Lal Khattar as he took oath as Haryana's new Chief Minister.

Modi was present at the oath taking ceremony of the new CM.

Congratulating Khattar, Modi tweeted: "Congratulations to Shri Manohar Lal Khattar on taking oath as Haryana CM. @bjpmlal."

The swearing-in ceremony was held in Panchkula at HUDA ground in Sector 5.

Besides the PM, Maneka Gandhi, Vasundhra Raje and Anandi Ben also attended the ceremony.

Om Prakash Dhankar, Anil Viz, Kavita Jain, OP Dhankar and Ram Vilas Sharma were sworn-in as ministers in Khattar's cabinet.

Khattar is Haryana's first non-Jat chief minister in about two decades.
