MK Stalin's DMK sweeps Tamil Nadu local body polls

Chennai/IBNS: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's DMK has swept the local body elections in nine newly-formed districts, which were created for administrative convenience and demands from common people, media reports said.

As per reports by NDTV, the DMK is leading/winning most of 153 district panchayat ward member seats.

It is also leading/winning most of 1,421 panchayat union ward member seats.

Stalin, who leads the DMK, has thanked people of his state for the victory.

This is the first election since DMK swept the state polls earlier this year.

Stalin became the Chief Minister after DMK won 159 of 234 assembly seats.
