Mizoram road mishap: Nine people killed, 29 others injured

Aizawl, Jun 5 (IBNS): At least nine people were killed and 29 others injured when a passenger bus fell into a deep gorge in Mizoram's Lunglei district on Tuesday early morning.

According to the reports, the incident had happened near Pangzawl village in Lunglei district.

The passenger private bus was going from Aizawl towards Siaha town in South Mizoram's Siaha district.

The bus had rolled down and fell into a 500-metre deep gorge below the National Highway-54.

Local villagers and police had recovered all the bodies from the area. Injured persons were rushed to Pangzawl hospital.

Five of the injured people were stated to be in critical condition and they have been moved to Aizawl for better treatment.
