Minor boy held for allegedly raping 6-year-old girl in Assam

Guwahati, Sept 1 (IBNS) : Police have arrested a minor boy, who allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl in Assam’s Hojai district.

The incident took place at No 3 Kaki Thaisuper area under Kaki police station. The 16-year-old accused allegedly committed the crime on Friday when the girl was alone at her home.

After the the incident came to light, locals on Saturday informed the police.

The police have registered a case under POCSO Act and sent the accused boy to a  juvenile home.

“We have received information that  a minor girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy. The police have arrested the accused and sent him to a juvenile home,” Hojai district DSP Vanita Nath said.
