Srinagar, Mar 29 (IBNS) : Heavily armed militants believed to be belonging to the banned Hizbul Mujhaideen have threatened a senior police officer's family and ransacked the house in Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Tuesday evening.

Over the last seven days this is the third such incident of militants threatening and ransacking property of police families in South Kashmir.

According to police, four militants on Tuesday night ransacked the house of a senior police officer in Khudwani village in South Kashmir Kulgam District.

A day earlier, armed militants had barged into the residence of an assistant sub-inspector of police and a constable in Kashmir’s Shopian district and ransacked their houses on Monday night. The militants fired in the air before fleeing from the spot.

Earlier, they had looted the house and torched the car of a Jammu and Kashmir Prisons Department officer in Budgam district.
