Mumbai, Oct 19 (IBNS):  Anirban Das Blah, a celebrity manager accused in the #MeToo movement in India, attempted suicide in Navi Mumbai area on Thursday night, media reports said.

The police reportedly prevented the co-founder of KWAN Entertainment from jumping off the bridge in Vashi.

The incident reportedly happened at around 12.30 am.

Joint commissioner of police (law and order) Deven Bharati told The Times of India: "We managed to save him in the nick of the time. He got off a cab and was on the bridge when the police team caught him.''

The police took him to the police station.

“Senior inspector Satish Gaikwad along with PSI Rohan Bagade and three constables kept vigil for about 45 minutes on the old Vashi creek bridge. Around 12.05am, they spotted a man walking towards the bridge in the direction of Vashi and had reached midway. As he climbed the bridge railing, they immediately caught him. He broke down and identified himself as Anirban Das Blah (40), co-founder of KWAN Entertainment, a celebrity talent management firm,” said an officer who was part of the operation.

Anirban Das Blah's wife was informed about the incident.

The couple was then counselled. Blah told police he was intending to commit suicide due to the trauma he and his family had to suffer after four women accused him of sexual harassment, reported The Times of India.
