Mega distribution camp for the disabled held at Kerala

Kozhikode, Nov 30 (IBNS) Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Thaawarchand Gehlot inaugurated a 3-day camp and also distributed aids to 4000 disabled persons, here on Monday, according to an official release.

Tricycle, wheel chairs, artificial limbs, callipers, splints, cp chair, walking stick, smart cane, daisy player, CD-player,  Braille kit,  cricket ball, hearing aids, teaching learning materials, with many other orthosis & prothesis devices were distributed by the minister to people who were identified during an assessment camp held in Thamarassery, Koyilandi, Vadakara and Kozhikode during Aug 10-20, earlier this year.

National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities [NIEPMD], an apex body of Govt. of India for Multiple Disabilities organised the event in collaboration with Govt. of Kerala; Artificial Limb Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO) & Composite Regional Center for Persons with Disabilities(CRC) Kozhikode.
