Meet 17-year-old writer and Sqay Martial artist from Kashmir

A lot of budding authors are coming to the fore in the Kashmir valley. The young are enthusiastically attracted to creative writing. This story also happens to be about a young and energetic teenager from North Kashmir, the 17-year-old Nazrana.

Nazrana Ahsan Wani, 17, a proud daughter of Mohammad Ahsan Wani is from Bandipora in north Kashmir, a place where the snow clad mountains, the blooming fresh buds, the golden meadows add to the mesmerizing beauty of nature.

It is situated on the banks of Asia's largest freshwater lake, Wular. She was brought up here, and from a very young age has a love for writing, with the setting inspiring her to give shape to her imagination.

Besides pursuing her academic dreams in science stream, Nazrana has an indefinite love for writing, jotting down the intangible in sentences for everyone to read and relate to. Nazrana says she lives by it.

In her writing, she put the savor that touches the chords of heart, as she write within the deep contemplation and observation.

She started her career as a writer when she was in 9th standard and has so far co-authored more than 30 anthologies, which includes three "World book of record "anthologies. She authored one solo book namely "Shadowless Evening".

Success followed her and she has won 150+ accreditations in writing, She is an exemplary youth awardee under the category of "Best Author", a Limelight Awardee, and a Talented 30 Awardee under the category "Best youth icon of 2021".

She also received the Aspirant William Shakespeare Literature award under the title "Indian National idol". She received the Bhartiya Ekta Samman 2022 under the category "Author" by World Book of Star Records.

She is a multi-talented and multidimensional girl. She has not only won accolades for writing, but she is a medalist at the National level in Sqay Martial Arts. "I attribute this success to my coach and mentor Jamsheeda," the teenager said.

Nazarna added that she has been her own inspiration all along.

The young martial artist is currently working on to compile three books titled 'Tale of Wounded Souls', "The Lost Soul 16" and "The Solitary Souls 04".

Additionally she has been featured in many newspapers, magazines and blogs.

She is a red belt and a twice National Medalist in Sqay Martial Arts and a gold medalist at UT level.

She also credits her success to her English teacher, Sheikhzada Mudasir, her family and especially her maternal uncle.

"No matter what, they always taught me how to stay strong and focused, and how to overcome obstacles", she said. 

She additionally works as Campus Ambassador for International Model United Nations.
