Mathura violence leader Ram Vriksh Yadav killed in clashes, says police
Mathura, Jun 5 (IBNS): The leader of the cult violence in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura, Ram Vriksh Yadav, was killed in the violence, media reports quoted the police as saying.
The violence that hit Mathura on Thursday left 24 people killed.
Two police personnel, including an SP, were also killed in the incident.
Ram Vriksh Yadav was reportedly the key accused of leading the violence.
He ran a camp backed by a private army which divided into units and took over Mathura's Jawahar Bagh.
Earlier, around 366 people were arrested following the clash between police and the people.
More than 3,000 people of the cult, which called itself Swadhin Bharat Vidhik Satyagrah, had had clashed with some thousand policemen with swords, guns and grenades.
The move came after police launched a drive to evict them.
