Jagdalpur/Chhattisgarh/UNI: Three personnel sustained injuries in heavy firing on Monday during a Maoist assault on a CRPF camp recently set up at Elmagunda adjoining Chintagufa Police Station limits in Sukma – an extremely restive district within Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division in Chhattisgarh

The victims have been identified as constables Basappa, Lalit Bagh and Hemant Chaudhary.

Their conditions are reported to be stable.

"Members of the Force took up positions and returned fire resulting in the hitherto-unidentified rebels fleeing under cover of the forest,” Inspector General (Bastar Range) Sundarraj Pattilingam confirmed.
