Manmohan Singh discharged from hospital after recovering from Covid-19

New Delhi/IBNS: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was on Thursday discharged from hospital after recovering from Covid-19, media reports said.

Singh, 88, was admitted to the Trauma Centre of Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Apr 19 as a precautionary measure.

The veteran Congress leader has already received two doses of indigenous Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin.

Before his hospitalisation, Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering some advice on handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the biggest spike of daily cases,India recorded 3,79,257 positive cases on Thursday while 3,645 Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours.

The government has expanded the vaccinationation to all people aged 18 or more from May 1.

The registration process for vaccination began at 4 pm on Wednesday.
