Mumbai, July 8 (IBNS): A man, who was alleged of stabbing a 16 years old Junaid Khan on a train in Ballabgarh, confessed his act and was arrested from Dhule, Maharashtra on Saturday, media reports said.

He will be presented before the court on Sunday.

Junaid, 16, who was travelling home with his brothers Haseem, Moeen and Mohsin after shopping for the Eid at Delhi's Jama Masjid encountered a group that passed several communal abuses and humiliated the brothers, asking them to get out of the train.

The  group of 15 men allegedly hacked the teen to death and stabbed his family members inside a moving train after accusing them of carrying beef.

A week later, prime minister Narendra Modi condemned the killing and said: "Killing people in the name of Gau Bhakti is not acceptable. This is not something Mahatma Gandhi would approve."

The incident prompted several opposition parties to attack the central government for the rise of communal hatred across the country.
