Maharashtra: Two youths arrested for friend’s murder in Kolhapur

Kolhapur/UNI:  Two youths were arrested by police for alleged murder of their friend over a petty dispute at Arge Bhavan area of in Ichalkaranji town of the district on Saturday.

Two days back, there was an altercation between the victim and the two accused persons on drinking of liquor.

This morning, the duo demanded an explanation from the victim, Haidar Shahanur Kalawant (24), and suddenly attacked him with a stone, killing him on the spot, police said.


After the murder, the suspects tried to carry Haidar’s body on their motorcycle but alert people and a home guard jawan stopped them on suspicion and informed about the matter to the local police.


A Gaonbhag police team rushed to the spot and arrested the duo, sources added.

They were identified as Ganesh Narayan Ingale and Yogesh Hanmant Shinde, both aged 23 and residents of Ganesh Nagar.
