Thane, May 24 (UNI) Two teenagers hailing from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested and seven country-made revolvers and two live cartridges worth Rs 1.75 lakh have been seized from them, police said here on Friday.

Talking to mediapersons, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Atul Kulkarni said the accused were identified as Rahul Khanayalal Malvia and Ishwar Rameshkumar (both 19).

The ASP said the accused were nabbed, based on a tip-off from Navghar and added that they came to sell the firearms in Mumbai.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused received the arms from a person in Madhya Pradesh and were smuggling it from Gwalior city in MP to Borivili suburb here, he added.

Offences against the accused have been registered at Indore, police said, adding that further investigation was underway, to determine how they smuggled the arms and who was the intended buyer of the same.
