Maharashtra: Man held on charges of attempt to murder

Thane, Oct 27 (UNI) A man was arrested on alleged charges of attempting to murder his wife and teenaged son, police said on Sunday.
 

The accused was identified as Pramod Kanha Patil (43), resident of Balkum Pada No 2.

According to Police, the incident occurred at around 2230 hrs and the accused attacked his wife, Vaijayanti (38), with the knife used for cutting fish and inflicted several blows on her head and hand. Her son aged 13, who was attempting to rescue his mother was also attacked.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Police PRO Sukhada Narkar told this correspondent that based on a complaint from another son thew accused was arrested.

Further investigations were underway, police added.
