Maharashtra: Italy-returned youth tests negative for Coronavirus

Nashik/UNI: A 27-year-old patient, admitted to isolation ward of the Civil Hospital here, has tested negative for the deadly Coronavirus, medical report copy said on Monday.

A native of Chandrapur district, the youth who was in Italy for educational purpose returned on February 26, and continued his journey towards home.

Upon reaching here, he complained of cold and asphyxiation hence he was admitted to the Civil Hospital on February 29.

Taking immediate preventive step, the medical officer sent his throat swab sample for testing to the Pune-based government lab.

On Sunday evening, the report confirming no presence of Coronavirus in the patient was received from the lab.

The district administration has appealed citizens, especially those who have recently travelled abroad, to take cognizance of the pandemic's symptoms.

If any matching symptoms are found, immediately contact the nearest public health centre, it asserted.
