Maharashtra: Farmer killed in car accident

Kolhapur: A farmer was killed when he was hit by a car while crossing a road on Kolhapur -Ratnagiri national highway in Maharashtra on Monday, police said.

According to an official of Shahuwadi police station, the 50-year-old farmer Vishnu Narayan Ingavale was on his way with other farmers to Chandoli to purchase a bullock when the accident happened near Nile village.

Vishnu sustained a serious head injury, and died later at Chhatrapati Pramila Raje hospital.

The car driver has been detained by the police.
