Maharashtra: Ex Sena MLA booked for caste slur

Aurangabad/UNI: Former Shiv Sena MLA from Kannad Harshwardhan Jadhav was on Monday booked at city chowk police station, here, for allegedly abusing a person and making casteist remarks against him.

The complainant, Nitin Ratan Dhabade, 30, of Banewadi, stated that he started a kiosk in front of Mr Jadhav's office. According to police, the former MLA wanted Dhabade to remove it and subsequently engaged in a verbal duel, where in he abused the complainant on his caste.

Based on the complaint, the Kranthi chowk police booked Mr Jadhav in an Atrocity case and have initiated a probe into the matter, the police said.

Jadhav, a former Shiv Sena MLA, joined Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in February. Party chief Raj Thackeray appointed him as rural district party president.
