Maharashtra: 59-year-old man gets 20-year rigorous imprisonment for raping six-year-old girl

Sangli: District sub additional session judge D S Hatrote on Tuesday sentenced to 20-year rigorous imprisonment a 59-year-old man for raping a six-year-old girl about four years back here in Maharashtra.

According to public prosecutor Arati Deshpande-Satvilkar, accused Rahebaksar Rahesab Pirjade (59), a carpenter. did the heinous crime on October 16, 2019, when he was engaged in the house of the victim for professional work.

The girl went crying to her mother, who registered a police complaint against Pirjade.

The accused was arrested.

Deshpande-Satvilkar said six witnesses were examined in the court and judge Hatrote accepted the statements of the mother and the affected girl and sentenced Pirzade to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment, besides imposing on him a fine of Rs 25,000.
