Chhatarpur, MP, July 8 (UNI) A 36-year-old – who poured petrol over himself and set it afire on Monday in front of the Police Superintendent’s office here – was rescued by law-enforcement personnel who doused the blaze and rushed the youngster to the District infirmary where he is battling for life on account of sustaining 90 per cent burns, police said.

Kanhaiyya Lal Agrawal – who resides in the vicinity of the local Sarani Darwaza – said, “My family has been falsely implicated in a theft case and my relatives are fleeing helter-skelter after locking up our dwelling. In the hope of receiving justice, I submitted an application to police on Saturday but no action followed. Therefore I approached the Superintendent’s workplace again. My act was triggered by the irresponsible attitude of law-enforcement officers.”
