#LokSabhaPoll2019: BJD to win all 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha, says CM Naveen Patnaik

| @indiablooms | Mar 24, 2019, at 03:53 pm

Nayagarh (Odisha), Mar 24 (UNI) Asserting that no single national political party this time will get majority to form the government at the centre, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik today said his party will play a crucial role in the formation of the government at the Centre.

A confident Patnaik who has been always claiming that the BJD will keep equi distance from both the BJP and Congress, said his party win all the 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha and play a major role in the formation of government at the Centre.

In 2014 elections, notwithstanding the Modi wave across the country, the BJD won 20 of 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha the BJP managed to get only one seat.

The BJD supremo who kick started the election campaign here lambasted the centre for its apathetic attitude towards Odisha and said Odisha had become the victim of Central negligence.

He said the BJP had promised to accord special category status to Odisha but after coming to power, they completely ignored it. The BJD however, will continue its fight for a special category status to the state.

Hitting out at the BJP for supporting the Chhatisgarh government on Mahanadi water issue and Andhra Pradesh in Polavaram project, Patnaik questioned is this not Central negligence ?.

The BJP government in Chhatisgarh has stooped the flow of Mahanadi water to Odisha yet the

BJP led NDA government at the Centre did not come to the rescue of the people of Odisha.

The railways, Patnaik said is earning Rs 20,000 crore from Odisha every year but neglecting the state in the development of railways. Similarly, Odisha is also deprived of benefit from the coal royalty, he regretted.

The BJD supremo said the “four crore people of odisha is our strength adding that our high command is people of Odisha who are also the remote control of the party”.

Stating that the Kalia scheme launched by his government, has opened new hope for the farmers in the state, Patnaik said already 35 lakh farmers have been benefited under the scheme.

The Chief Minister said nobody can stop the scheme which is meant for the welfare of the farmers, share croppers and landless agricultural labourers of the state.

The BJD, he said has given 33 per cent reservation to women candidates in the Lok sabha elections and worked sincerely for the empowerment of women in the state by providing zero percent interest on loan to the women under Misson Shakti progremme.
