Agartala, May 23 (UNI) The counting for two parliamentary constituencies in Tripura began with high security amid allegations of threat and intimidation to the opposition supporters at a few interior locations of the state.

After first round of counting BJP candidates are leading in both the seats.

In West Tripura parliamentary constituency there has been a direct fight between BJP nominee Pratima Bhowmik and Congress candidate Subal Bhowmik.

In the first round BJP candidate has taken lead to 17 out of 30 assembly segments and congress was leading to 13 seats. However, BJP ally in the government, tribal based IPFT could manage to retain their presence in two segments of West Tripura in the initial tally.

In East Tripura tribal reserved parliamentary constituency, BJP candidate Rabati Tripura is contesting with congress nominee and royal scion Rajkumari Pragya Dev Barman.
