Lieutenant General Johnson P Mathew takes over Spear Corps charge

Guwahati/IBNS: Lieutenant General Johnson P Mathew on Wednesday took over the reins of Spear Corps from Lieutenant General RP Kalita.

The General is an Infantry Officer and was commissioned in the Punjab Regiment of the Indian Army in 1985.

He has held several prestigious command and staff assignments in conventional as well as Counter-Insurgency operations.

He commanded an infantry battalion in North-East, RR Sector as a Brigadier and Victor Force as General Officer Commanding in J & K.

The new Corps Commander conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the North East and wished them peace, tranquility and prosperity in the times ahead.
