Leader of Bangladesh-based terror outfit arrested in Bangalore

New Delhi, Aug 8 (IBNS):  The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday said it has arrested a top India operative of Bangladesh-based terror outfit JMB from Bangalore.

The NIA said the JMB operative, who was identified as  Mohammed Jahidul Islam alias Kausar, was arrested from  Ramanagara on Aug 7.

The man has been arrested in connection with the recovery of two bombs in Bodh Gaya in Bihar in January this year.

"His house was also searched and some electronic devices besides traces of explosives have been recovered during search. He is the top leader of JMB in India and is wanted in Burdwan blast case and in many other cases in Bangladesh also," read a statement issued by the NIA.

"He is the master mind in the case RC-4/2018/NIA/DLI(Bodh Gaya case). On his directions Mustafizur Rehman @ Shahin, who is his close associate, had arranged and assembled all the explosives for the incident," the investigation agency said.

Kausar was produced before the Special Court for NIA Cases, Bengaluru.

The court has granted 5 days of transit remand.

He will now be produced before the Special NIA Court, Patna by the NIA
