Launch of Digital Bangla outreach campaign in West Bengal

Kolkata, June 28 (IBNS): The Department of Information Technology & Electronics (IT&E Deptt.), Govt. of West Bengal in association with DeitY, GoI has launched Digital Bangla Outreach Campaign.

The objective of this campaign is to create awareness about Digital Bangla program, Key Pillars of Digital India, Mission Mode projects, Core Infrastructure, various e-services of Govt. of West Bengal and their major initiatives through a Van based mobile display or exhibition unit with Audio Visual, IEC materials which will travel across the entire State of West Bengal. 


The Van will also conduct Street Plays at various citizen interface points such as Tathya Mitra Kendra (CSCs), Gram Panchayats, Schools, Colleges, etc highlighting the e-services and their benefits. 


Presently, there are various services available in electronic mode and the citizens of West Bengal especially in rural areas are not fully aware of these e-services and its delivery channels. 


The campaign is aimed at bringing more awareness among the public by engaging them during the campaign with activities like quiz, games, skit play, etc.


This initiative is expected to bring better and continuous citizen engagement by connecting the service provider and the service seeker which will encourage participation, exchange of ideas and flow of conversation to share information and make citizens a partner in decision making.


In West Bengal, 2 campaign vans will be deployed over a period of 8 months to cover 19 districts and Kolkata Municipal Corporation areas.
