Landslide on Mumbai-Pune Expressway kills 1

Mumbai, July 19 (IBNS) At least one person was killed and two others were injured in a landslide on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Sunday, reports said.

The mishap occurred close to the Aadush tunnel in Khopoli at around 12 noon.

The police was quoted as saying by Mid Day, "Big boulders fell on both sides of the road from a distance of 10 feet. A car passing by near the tunnel got stuck after the first boulder's fall with the second one almost crushing the vehicle. One person died on the spot while two are suffering from major injuries."

Traffic movement on the Expressway has been badly hit following the accident.
