Lalu Prasad urges Mulayam to patch up with son Akhilesh and present a united front for UP Elections

Patna, Jan 17 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): RJD president Lalu Prasad has come out in open support of UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav in the ongoing fight between father and son in the UP’s first family.

"The assembly elections in UP are quite significant since it will impact the national politics. Hence, I request Mulayam Singh Yadav to bless Akhilesh and fight the polls unitedly to defeat the communal forces,” Prasad told the media on Monday.

The RJD cautioned Mulayam against the ugly designs of the “communal forces” saying the latter were trying hard to spilt the secular votes.

“They should not be allowed to succeed in their attempt,” Prasad said and revealed how he also had talks with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi to join Akhilesh to give a befitting reply to the 'communal forces'.

Prasad is also related to SP patriarch Mulayam. Prasad’s youngest daughter Raj Laxami is married to Mulayam’s grand nephew.

Earlier, Prasad had made efforts to bring truce in the fighting Mulayam family after Akhilesh was expelled from the party last month.
