Lalu Prasad undergoes heart surgery

Mumbai, Aug 27 (IBNS): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is undergoing a major heart surgery in a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday.

According to media reports,  the former Bihar Chief Minister is suffering from 'aortic stenosis'. He was admitted in Asian Heart Institute located in suburban Bandra Kurla complex on Monday.

It has been learnt that, two surgeries will be performed, on the 66-year old politician, one to replace the aortic valve and the other to replace the aorta.

NDTV channel says, quoting a spokesperson for the hospital, that the operation which began in the morning, may take about 5 hours.
