Lalu, Nitish, Congress come together to present rare ‘show of unity’ in Bihar alliance

Patna, Jan 23 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Three top leaders of Bihar’s ruling Grand Alliance came together on Monday to present a rare show of unity amid reports of differences in the alliance.

Bihar chief minister and JD-U president Nitish Kumar, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and state Congress president Ashok Chaudhary shared a common platform at 1, Anne Marg for the first time since GA government came to power 14 months back to hear grievances of the party workers.

At the meeting dubbed as “Lok Samvad” (public interaction) programne, the chief minister reportedly laid stress on building smooth coordination among leaders and workers of three ruling parties to monitor governance and implementation of development works.

RJD chief Prasad said such meetings would prove fruitful in maintaining proper coordination among leaders and workers of the three parties.

According to him, forth Monday of every month has been fixed for such meeting. As per reports, the RJD chief assured the Grand Alliance workers that he would see to it that their genuine grievances are not ignored at the level of officials.  

Reports said at the meeting the participants raised the issue of large-scale corruption in the state police department and government, and rued how the officials don’t take notice of their complaints.

Deputy chief minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, a number of ministers and districts presidents of all the three parties also took part in the meeting.
