Kumaraswamy tenders apology on behalf of his brother and Minister H D Revanna against Sumalatha

Bengaluru, Mar 10(UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, to put to an end to the controversy over Public Works Department Minister and his brother H D Revanna's alleged derogatory remark made against Film Star and wife of former Minister late M H Ambareesh Sumalatha who was aspiring to contest from Mandya in the Lok Sabha election on Congress ticket, tendered an apology to her on Sunday.

Speaking to newsmen after administering Polio drop to a child in his official residence 'Krishna', the Chief Minister expressed his regrets over a remark made by his brother on Sumalatha.

Stating that he has all the regards for the Woman and never indulged in any manner to disrespect Women. "On behalf of my brother I am tendering apology to Sumalatha", he added.

He also blamed the media for raking up the controversy and said that "had the media did not provoked him (Revanna) could not have reacted on Sumalatha's intention to

contest the election".

The Congress which had conceded the Mandya Lok Sabha seat, to JD(S) had rejected Sumalatha's request for the party ticket.

Mr KUmaraswamy has plans to field his son Nikhil on JDS ticket, who is also a film actor, from Mandya.
