Kottayam, Feb 15 (UNI) Two workers engaged in a work to start cultivation in a paddy field were killed beneath the tractor when it turned turtle at Channanikkad here.

Police sources said on Saturday said four tractors were taken to the field to set the land for cultivation.

The accident occurred when the workers were about to leave on Friday evening in the tractor which had overturned.

The deceased were identified as Aymanam native Sasi (56) and Neelimangalam native Manikuttan (38).

As the field was swamped by muddy water, other workers failed to lift the tractor, which was involved in the accident, to rescue the workers in time.
