Kolkata, Sep 13 (IBNS) :  A woman, who was admitted to a city nursing home in south Kolkata's posh New Alipur area, died from wounds on Thursday morning after a fall from her bed on Saturday last week.

Alleging negligence, an FIR against the hospital authorities  has been lodged with the Behala police station.

The woman had been on life support system after the fatal fall on Saturday, last week.

Forty-year-old Sarbani Majumder, a mother of two children, was admitted to the nursing home after her hemoglobin dipped and bilirubin shot up. She was advised for routine check up for hemoglobin and bilirubin, her  relatives claimed.

They told the police that the deceased herself took dinner on her own on Friday night and  the following day the staff of the nursing home informed the patient party that she was in a critical state after falling from the bed.

The bereaved family members alleged that it was  due to the negligence of the nursing home that the woman died.
