Kolkata, Jan 21 (IBNS): Six persons, including three juveniles, were arrested on Saturday for allegedly gang-raping a nearly 27-year-old woman in broad daylight in Kolkata's Taratala area, reports said.

According to reports, the woman, who came to her relative's place at Taratala's Port Trust quarters area, claimed that she was gang-raped by six people at an abandoned place, barely 500 metres away from her relative's residence, while she was going to buy meat in the noon.

The young woman alleged that her assaulters had filmed themselves raping her and they also threatened her to leak the footage on social sites if she lodged complaint against them.

Later, on Friday night, the woman lodged a complaint at Taratala Police Station and after starting probe into the matter, police nabbed all the six accused from nearby areas.

A city police official told IBNS that an FIR has been registered under IPC section 376D (Gang rape).

However, three adults were produced in Alipore court on Saturday and were remanded to 14-day judicial custody till Feb 3 while three underage accused were produced before a juvenile court and were sent to an observational home.
