Kolkata: Teacher beats student with cricket bat
Kolkata, Dec 4 (IBNS): One six-standard student of a boarding school in Kolkata was allegedly beaten badly by a hostel warden on last Monday, reports said on Friday.
According to reports, Md. Shahin Mondal, a student of Rajarhat North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School, was asked a physics question by hostel's warden Debajyoti Das at school's hostel around 8 pm. on Monday. As the student could not answer the question, hostel's warden Debajyoti Das allegedly beat him roughly and hit on his head with a cricket bat.
The warden cum teacher also allegedly threatened the student to kill him, if he tells anyone regarding this matter.
The student was taken to a nearby public hospital by the school authority with a serious head injury. After primary treatment, he was released from the hospital.
Meanwhile, the school authority did not inform his parents about the incident.
Md. Sahin Mondal's guardians came to know about the matter on Friday morning and lodged a complaint at Rajarhat Police Station.
However, the school authority has suspended the accused warden Debajyoti Das. Police have started interrogation into the matter.
