Kolkata, Sep 19 (IBNS): Supporters of East Bengal Football Club allegedly attacked the tent of rival Mohun Bagan Athletic Club in Kolkata's Maidan area on Tuesday late afternoon, reports said.

According to reports, while returning home after watching a CFL (Calcutta Football League) match between East Bengal and Tollygunge Agragami at East Bengal Ground, which is located near Mohun Bagan AC's Maidan tent, few East Bengal supporters suddenly started pelting bricks and stones aiming at Mohun Bagan AC tent.

They allegedly used abusive words and gestures against Mohun Bagan supporters, gathered in front of their club's tent.

A senior official of Mohun Bagan AC told IBNS that their club's gate and few other properties were damaged due to the 'unprovoked' attack by East Bengal supporters.

"Our club authority has lodged a complaint at Maidan Police Station and submitted the footage of the entire incident," the official said.

Meanwhile, officials of East Bengal club condemned of the incident and have requested the administration to take strict action against the attackers.

Earlier in the afternoon, East Bengal registered a 5-0 win against Tollygunge Agragami which has taken them to the top of the CFL table.
