Kolkata, Oct 26 (IBNS): Metro rail service in Kolkata was partly disrupted for more than an hour on Wednesday morning as a minor spark was noticed in the third rail, reports said.

According to reports, when a Dumdum to Kavi Subhash bound AC rake was entering Masterda Surya Sen station in southern Kolkata's Bansdroni area at around 8:54 am, spark and smoke were found in the third line, which supplies power to the metro trains.

Metro staffers and security personnel immediately stopped the train and passengers were evacuated from the train very fast.

Due to the incident, metro service from Tollygunge (Mahanayak Uttam Kumar) to Kavi Subhash were disrupted for an hour.

The service became normal after 10:06 am, a metro official said.

"After being informed, metro engineers and fire officials rushed to the spot and brought the minor fire under control very fast," a senior official of Kolkata metro rail told IBNS.

However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
