Kolkata, Apr 4 (IBNS): A young woman student from Assam's capital Guwahati alleged that she had been raped several times by a Kolkata-based businessman in a city guest house, reports said.

According to reports, the woman came to Kolkata last year to study cosmetology and she was staying at a flat in south part of the city.

The young student claimed that she was introduced to Kolkata-based businessman Rakesh Chowdhury, who is reportedly married and a resident of Salt Lake area, through her friends.

Later in June last year, she met Rakesh Chowdhury in a city restaurant and the man allegedly offered her drinks there.

The woman claimed that she became unconscious after having the drink and the accused businessman took her to a city guest house and raped her there.

Rakesh Chowdhury allegedly filmed the act and threating her to leak the footage online, he had raped the woman several times since June last year.

The young student claimed the she became pregnant twice and Rakesh Chowdhury forcibly aborted her fetus for two times.

However, the woman lodged a complaint at Lake Police Station against the businessman and his wife on Tuesday.

A senior police official told IBNS that after registering an FIR under several IPC sections, police have started probe into the matter.

Since the complaint was lodged, accused businessman and his wife have gone absconding, according to reports.
